Interesting Facebook Tricks you will love

Presently Facebook is almost a grand internet phenomenon and all of you are very adept at it in almost every way necessary. Updating statuses, browsing profiles, pages, apps, sending messages, etc. are at your fingertips. However, there are numerous interesting features in Facebook which not many people are aware of and though they are mostly useless, some of them might come in handy any day.

Here are a few of the favourites among those interesting tricks for you to try out.

  • Removing the Last Name of your Facebook profile

The security checks in Facebook require you to fill out your account details in their totality for creating your account. By default all of you have to enter your full name before saving your profile settings.
But no more. With the help of this trick, you can remove your last name and bypass the restrictions of Facebook.
Steps to Do it:-
1) Open the Mozilla Firefox browser. (Working in Firefox is mandatory for this trick to work)
2) Go to: Options > Advanced > Network > Settings > Connection Settings > Manual Proxy Configuration.
3) Then enter the following in HTTP Proxy Field – 103.10.62.30, port 8080, or use an Indonesian Proxy.
4) On your Facebook account, go to the Account settings: Change the Language to ‘BAHASA INDONESIA.’
5) Drop your middle and your last name.

  • Animated Custom Tabs

Facebook in principle will not allow you to upload GIFs which are animated on the site which means you cannot have animated GIFs anywhere, unless you have the following few things to overrule this limitation. If you do, then you can upload animated GIFs in custom tabs.
Steps to Do it:-
1) All you need is Quicktime Player(any version) and Adobe Photoshop CS5.
2) Select the animated GIF that you want to add.
3) Run Adobe Photoshop CS5 & go to: File > Import > Video frames to the layers. In File Name box enter *.* as the filename and choose the GIF image to be uploaded.
4) Resize the GIF to ‘111 x 74’ pixels which will enable it to fit in the custom tab.
5) Save the file in PSD format. Check your save option, “LAYERS.”

  • Creating Your Own Emoticon on the Facebook Chat

Facebook had allowed its users to use custom emoticons in the chat menu since 2011, and now you can use a friend’s profile picture as an emoticon too. All you need to do is get the page’s or the profile’s ID and you can use their picture in a thumbnail format as an emoticon. This works only in the chat menu and not in comments or updates.

Steps to Do it:-
1) Go to a profile, Page, or an event which you intend on using as your emoticon.
2) Search for the ID of the profile located ending of the URL, for example “Monsantoexposed” from https://www.facebook.com/Monsantoexposed.
3) Place the number or username within double brackets – [[Monsantoexposed]]
4) Enter it in a Facebook Chat menu.
